McCain — the Flip-Flopper — yes indeed

Two years ago, McCain demanded that we talk with Hamas. Today, he insists that we, the U.S., not talk with Hamas. He used to say, “No Torture!” Now he insists, “Torture!” He informs us that war in Iraq [may] continue for 100 years, or more. Now he promises that the troops will return home in five years.

He used to say, “No Torture!” Now he insists, “Torture!”

He informs us that war in Iraq [may] continue for 100 years, or more. Now he promises that the troops will return home in five years.

He had to get an awkward clarification from his ventriloquist, Edgar Bergan Liberman, before he identified the right people.

He once was derided as one of the “premium flag-carriers for the enemies of the Second Amendment the N.R.A.” He now embraces the program agenda at its annual meeting.

He dumped his first wife after she was seriously injured in an auto accident. Shortly after the accident, he began an affair (which the Republicans used to call an affair, and still do when it applies to Democrats) with a 25-year-old Arizona beer heiress, and then used her money to start his political career.

The Rev. Mr. Haggis, a fundamentalist pastor, condemned the R.C.C. as a Whore, and demands the death of a variety of people, especially gays, who disagree with him. McCain sought his support. Only much later did he reject the endorsement — another flip-flop.

McCain goes whichever way his lobbyists push him. He is no maverick. Last year he voted with Bush 95%. Overall, he has voted with Bush 90% of the time. Now, he begins to distance himself from Bush. His favorite song is “Bomb. Bomb, Bomb Iran.” I saw him warble it, along with a gallows laugh.

So, don’t let his smooth talk in public fool you. Elect McCain — for More Bush Pain. McCain is Unable (See Genesis 4). All of this — only the tip of the iceberg.
